I read Whisper’s article about the beginning of Campretos… To think about,
how long ago was that? Beginning of 2009 wasn’t it? Time flew by so
quickly, we’re already in November 2009 now.
It’s amazing what we can accomplish if we put our minds and efforts
together. I will be complete honest with all of you that I much enjoyed
this year’s tournament than last year’s. For one thing, as I first looked
at the tournament brackets, I thought to myself that this year ANYONE
could win this. A lot of people in the Dan division are that good that
with a slight twist of luck, they could win it all.
Don’t get me wrong, I respect the hell out of Big Boss as a fighter and as
a friend. To all of you who have the privilege of fighting with Big Boss
as a team mate, it’s an amazing thing to watch him fight. For some reason,
he’s the one guy that can somehow find a way to win, even when faced with
a difficult opponent. Even resorting to some ‘interesting’ tactics,
although he’s Kendo skill is still formidable.
However, the one thing that I am particularly proud of… Campretos, all of
you… despite the result of your matches… you all came out swinging!! NONE
of you went in with a loser’s mentality, you all went and try to win! No
matter who you’re faced with… For that, I am proud to be a part of
Campretos (I'm no leader, trust me, you all made it happen)… I believe
this is one thing we all are trying to achieve, and for one thing we all
showed them what we are made of.
I may sound like a hypocrite, but I do mean it when I saw this : winning
isn’t (too) important. If you keep believing and trying hard, it will
happen, trust me… hey, it happened to me, didn’t it?
